The serious accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. The 75-year-old was sitting with her granddaughter in the Astbergbahn 4-seater chairlift. Shortly before she got off at the top station, the older woman opened the safety bar. She probably lost her balance and fell forward, police said.
Serious facial injuries
This caused the German to fall about five feet and land on the concrete floor of the lift station. The 75-year-old man sustained serious facial injuries in the fall. Employees of the mountain railway immediately provided first aid. The woman was eventually flown to Kufstein Hospital by emergency helicopter “Heli 4”.
