After the presentation yesterday of the floating offshore wind turbine off the coast of Biscay, the Minister of Economic Development stressed that it is a “very important” step forward for the energy transition.
The Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government, Arantxa Tapiastated that the floating offshore wind turbine installed off the coast of Armintza (Bizkaia) represents a step forward for the Basque Country to become a reference in Europe in the production and deployment of renewable energy sources.
Through social networks, Tapia has congratulated Basque engineering Saitecwhich succeeded in anchoring the first floating wind turbine connected to the state’s electricity grid at a depth of 85 meters to the seabed.
Saitec provides the installation of another three floating mills by 2026 at Gorlizwith a capacity of 15 MW each, good for the production of energy for about 50,000 households.
After yesterday’s public presentation of the Demosath project, the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment stressed that this is “a very important step forward for the energy transitionand also for the Basque Country as a reference country at European level for the production and application of renewable energy sources”.
