Shock for a holidaymaker (39) from Germany on Sunday shortly after Jenbach in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz! While driving, her car suddenly caught fire. The fire brigade was called, but could no longer prevent the vehicle from completely burning out.
The German had almost reached Lake Achensee on Sunday morning around 10:30 am when the car suddenly broke down and started to burn on the last steep section of Kasbachstrasse between Jenbach and Maurach. The 39-year-old saw smoke and parked the vehicle. When she got out of the car, flames were already coming from the engine compartment, shortly afterwards the car went up in flames.

The volunteer fire brigades from Eben and Pertisau were able to extinguish the fire quickly, but the car was a total loss. The fire also damaged a facade of a house and a street lamp. The driver had to be taken to the hospital in Schwaz with suspected smoke inhalation.
During the operation, the road had to be completely closed for about two hours. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
