With nearly 7 million votes, the libertarian economist, leader of the La Libertad Avanza formation, has become the politician with the most votes among the candidates for president ahead of the October 22 elections.
Far-right candidate Javier Milei is the most popular candidate in Argentina’s presidential primaries, with 30% of the vote, when 95% of votes have been counted.
With nearly 7 million votes, the libertarian economist, leader of the formation La Libertad Avanza, has become the politician with the most votes among the candidates for the presidency on October 22. That is why he is currently the favorite to succeed Alberto Fernández.
Behind that, the opposition coalition Together for Change has 28.27% (more than 6,500,000 voters) and the Peronist Unión por la Patria 27.19% (some 6,300,000 votes).
In Together for Change, the votes are divided between the former Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrichvery close to the opposition leader Mauricio Macri (with 16.99%) and the head of government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta (with 11.28%).
On behalf of the Unión por la Patria (UP) the Minister of Economic Affairs, Sergio Masswith 21.35%, and Juan Grabois, leader of one of the leftmost forces of the ruling coalition and from the social movements, who has so far received 5.84% of the vote.
The Simultaneous and Mandatory Open Primaries (PASO) are mostly an x-ray of the state of mind of the country, in which participation was 70%.
