The SATSE, ELA, LAB, ESK, CC. OO. and UGT have described the words of the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagardui, as very serious.
Osakidetza’s unions called a demonstration on Sunday, June 26, to denounce the “serious” situation of primary care. Therefore, Osakidetza’s unions will jointly respond to the reorganization announced this week by Health Minister Gotzone Sagardui, due to the lack of primary care medical personnel. Likewise, on June 22, there will be closures in primary care centers that are already restricted for the summer.
The SATSE, ELA, LAB, ESK, CC. OO. and UGT met this Friday and described the words of the Minister of Health as “very serious”. However, ELA representative Esther Saavedra has assured on behalf of all unions that Sagardui’s announcement has not surprised them, as “the trend since pre-pandemic is to implement cuts in Osakidetza. Not only in primary care, but in all other services he pointed out.
“It was a deliberately sought-after situation,” they say from the unions. “Because the Ministry of Health was aware that this situation was coming, yet did nothing to provide a solution to the problem,” Saavedra said.
The medical union, for its part, has refused to participate in the meeting.
