A tragic traffic accident occurred in Vienna-Liesing on Monday afternoon. A pensioner (80) was walking along Atzgersdorfer Straße with his wife when he suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a wall. Any help came too late for the driver.
It is currently unclear why the 80-year-old driver suddenly went off the road towards Hietzing, hit a tree and then drove into the house wall.
resuscitation failed
Observant passers-by immediately provided first aid and alerted the rescue services. However, all attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful and he died at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, his wife (77) was completely unharmed.
