Finger severed – machete attack in Chemnitz: Victim was a neo-Nazi

Date:

A 28-year-old man was brutally attacked on Tuesday in Chemnitz (state of Saxony). Several masked people allegedly hacked off three fingers from the victim’s left hand with a machete. State security has launched the investigation because it is suspected that it was a politically motivated act.

According to the German media, the person attacked is a known neo-Nazi. The search was not only for the perpetrators, but also for the fingers. The city park was searched on Wednesday. But so far, researchers have found nothing.

“Completely new quality of violence”
It could even be that the perpetrators took the fingers with them as a kind of trophy. The Freie Sachsen, a group of right-wing extremists and sympathizers of the right-wing scene organized as a political party, posted a photo of the victim on their Telegram channel (see photo above). At the same time, party leader Martin Kohlmann stressed that the 28-year-old worked for the group. Kohlmann, who apparently represents the man as a lawyer, spoke of a “whole new quality of violence”.
