On Tuesday evening around 6.30 pm, a 56-year-old from Wolfurt was riding his motorcycle from Müselbach on the L200 towards Alberschwende – with his 28-year-old son on his passenger. According to the police, the motorcycle’s rear tire suddenly burst at kilometer 13.

This caused the driver to lose control of his two-wheeler and hit the right side of the road, where father and son crashed hard into the curb. The driver suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder and facial fractures. He was admitted to the state hospital in Feldkirch. His son was unharmed, according to police.
Tires were crap
There was considerable material damage to the motorcycle, although the motorcycle was apparently not in really good condition before the start of the ride. According to the police, the tires were completely worn out and the tire carcass – or fabric – was already visible over a large part of the tread.
