A fatal accident occurred in Höfen in the Ausserfern region in Tyrol on Friday afternoon: a glider pilot crashed shortly after take-off. For the pilot – apparently a German – all help came too late.
The fatal accident happened around 2:30 p.m. As Klaus Hohenauer of the aviation authority of the state of Tyrol on the “Krone” describes, the glider pilot had taken off with a winch in the direction of Reutte.
Pilot succumbed to his injuries
Shortly after takeoff, the plane crashed for unexplained reasons. The pilot, reportedly a German, suffered fatal injuries.
Ambulance, fire and police were quickly on the scene. The exact cause of the crash is now being investigated.
