The owner of the eight-year-old dog brought her to Noah’s Ark in Styria in a terrible condition. She needed veterinary care.
Shortly before Christmas, the Arche Noah animal shelter in Graz reported a particularly dramatic case: an eight-year-old American Staffordshire dog was given up by her owner in a dramatic condition.
Open wounds
“Amy” was completely emaciated and had open wounds all over her body, and she was also limping on her left hind leg. Overall she seemed apathetic and exhausted.
“Extremely heartbreaking”
“The condition of the dog has deeply shocked us. It was clear that she had not received medical care or adequate nutrition for a long time. This fate is especially heartbreaking just before Christmas,” says Katharina Gründl, press spokesperson for Noah’s Ark.
The team took “Amy” to a veterinary practice in Liebenau – it turned out that she was also in pain due to untreated osteoarthritis. The dog is now being cared for.
