Ride ended at the doctor – father and son catapulted off the summer toboggan run

Serious leisure accident on Saturday afternoon in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol: During summer tobogganing in Biberwier, a holidaymaker (49) and his eight-year-old son lost control of the wheel in a bend and were thrown from the sledge. Both suffered injuries.

According to the police, the accident happened around 2 p.m. The 49-year-old Israeli was riding down the summer toboggan run in Biberwier with his eight-year-old son when they both became too heavy in a curve and were catapulted off the toboggan run.

“Father and son then fell on the tread of the track. The two suffered burns and abrasions, the detectives said. The sled itself remained on the track and braked on its own as the handle was released.

The railway’s operational manager immediately initiated the rescue chain. After receiving first aid, the two injured were taken by ambulance to a local doctor.
