Five-year-old drowned in wave pool
It was supposed to be a family trip to the Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg, but it ended horribly. The father spent 20 minutes in the restaurant and outside the thermal baths. He left his five-year-old daughter alone at the pool.
“Alone and without swimming aids” little Dunija jumped into the 1.90 meter deep wave pool. A swimmer saw the lifeless child floating in the water. The girl died in the Donaustadt clinic in Vienna. “He violated the attention he was supposed to have as a supervisor,” the prosecutor says in his charge of murder by gross negligence.
“I wish I were dead!”
The 39-year-old father cannot say much about the terrible swimming accident. After the first sentence, he bursts into tears: “I would like to be dead!” he sobbed in court.
