Another climate protest in Innsbruck! Activists of the last generation blocked the Inn Bridge in the city center on Wednesday morning. According to the police, there were no major traffic delays.
Despite the blockade, traffic is flowing away from the bridge relatively unimpeded, the Tyrolean police said in the morning. There were plenty of alternatives, and it’s vacation too.
Known demands for politicians
“We demand that the government finally implement the 93 sensible, socially just recommendations of the Citizens’ Climate Council, which have been available to the government for more than a year,” said Last Generation.
“Just a Little Premonition”
The “current heat wave in Tyrol and the rest of Austria” provides “only a small foreshadow of what lies ahead if effective measures for climate protection and survival protection are still missing,” said the demonstrators, in the middle of the disastrous summer.
