The residents were warned in time by smoke detectors and were able to leave the apartment. A woman and two children were provided first aid by the fire brigade and then handed over to the Red Cross. However, two cats remained behind.
Graz’s professional fire brigade was quickly on the scene: the emergency services were able to quickly fight the fire and found the cats hiding under a sofa.
The damage caused by the fire is estimated at tens of thousands of euros. The cause of the fire is the subject of a police investigation.
