Spanish police arrested three British holidaymakers at the island’s airport on Saturday. A British woman is said to have been raped by several men in Mallorca – in the same hotel where a recent gang rape allegedly took place.
The alleged crime would have taken place Friday evening. The hotel is located in the popular resort of Magaluf in Mallorca. The victim had previously met the men through social networks. A gang rape would later have taken place.
Traces of sexual violence found
The woman immediately filed a report on Friday morning. A medical examination then also confirmed traces of sexual assault. The Spanish police were able to arrest the three British suspects a few minutes before leaving for Manchester.
Particularly explosive: the week before, a gang rape would also have taken place in the same hotel. So far, a total of seven French and one Swiss have been arrested. Conviction for rape in Spain can lead to more than ten years in prison.
