Two young people allowed themselves much more than just a joke on Saturday evening in Mayrhofen (Schwaz district) in Tyrol. With a stolen electric car, they first caused an accident in Finkenberg and then drove off. Moments later, your journey roughly ended with a collision with another car.
The wild ride started around 10.10 pm in Finkenberg. There was a report of a traffic accident with property damage. However, the driver of the accident car just drove away. A witness was able to note the license plate number.
A little later, the investigators reported a smoking electric vehicle in Mayrhofen. When the police arrived on the scene, it turned out that it was the fugitive car. According to initial findings, the car should have gone off the road on a left turn and collided with full force into a parked car. The impact pushed the stationary car into a third car.
At the scene of the accident, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl. They initially stated that an unknown person had forced them to take a ride. “During further questioning and investigations, it turned out that the 17-year-old was the driver of the vehicle,” police said.
Arrested for now, no ticket
The teenager, who does not have a driver’s license, refused an alcohol test. He was arrested for his aggressive behavior. “During an initial interrogation, the Austrian made no confession. He will be reported to the responsible authorities at large,” the police said. No one should have been injured. The vehicles sustained damage for an undisclosed amount.
