During extreme turbulence on a flight from Alicante to Mallorca, some passengers may have already given up their lives. In a video of the incident posted by a passenger on Instagram, people can be heard screaming as the plane shakes violently.
The popular holiday island was hit by a severe storm on Sunday. Storm, rain and hail caused great damage in the holiday paradise. Storm winds of more than 100 kilometers per hour raged over the island. And with this weather, the pilot tried to go to Palma airport.
Some passengers even vomited
“It was like a rollercoaster ride until the pilot managed to stabilize the plane,” said Spanish acrobat Estela Orts, who shared the video on her Instagram account. “People and children were screaming, they felt sick, I couldn’t help but cry.” Some passengers also vomited.
Plane had to turn back
“Nobody said anything over the loudspeaker about what happened,” Orts said. The plane tried to land, but failed. After two anxious laps around the island, the machine finally returned to Alicante.
