In Lower Austria’s Pielachtal Valley, a neglected velvet paw called animal rights activists to action. The owner would have left the cat to his fate for weeks. The emaciated ball of wool is now being lovingly nursed back to health.
Recently, a kitten helped the animal rescue team Mostpfoten-Hilfe in Pielachtal. Completely emaciated and neglected, the velvet paw sat behind a tilted window, desperately trying to escape her martyrdom. She kept climbing back and forth between the window pane and the fly screen, but was trapped helplessly.
Freeing the cat, the helpers fell right into the arms of the ball of wool. After the animal rights activists smelled a stench in the house, the police and fire brigade were immediately alerted. The officers gained entry through the patio door and found themselves in a heavily littered property. However, the owner of the animal was found safe at his workplace.
Homeowners are gone for weeks
“It is unacceptable for an animal to be treated like this. He was left alone in a house full of rubbish and almost starved to death,” said a shocked rescue worker. The little kitten is currently being lovingly medically cared for. “We’re in a good mood!”
