A police patrol was in the right place at the right time on Wednesday: a 30-year-old crashed into a tree in front of two officers. Law enforcement officers immediately rushed to the crashed car after hearing screams for help from inside the car.
“We drove up, got out and heard all the cries for help from inside,” says Daniel R. The 22-year-old police officer was on Wednesday morning with his colleague David F. in the right place at the right time.
The two were on patrol when a black BMW left the road in Eberstalzell before their eyes, crashed into a tree and got stuck there. Behind the wheel was a 30-year-old from the Wels-Land district. The driver had avoided another car, driven by a Steyrer (51), because he wanted to turn his car. During the evasive manoeuvre, the 30-year-old lost control of her car.
One in the car, the other on the radio
“The left side of the vehicle was in the air,” reports Daniel R. “We immediately opened the right rear door and inquired about it. The driver responded and the airbags deployed. My colleague got into the vehicle, calmed her down and brought her out. In the meantime, I set the rescue chain in motion via the radio.”
Moments later, the rescue service was already present and the injured accident victim was taken to the Wels Clinic. The Steyrer was unharmed.
