The Euribor falls for the first time in 20 months and ends August at 4.073%

The decline over the past month was 0.079%. However, monthly interest rates remain high compared to August 2022, when the index was at 1.249%. A variable mortgage of 150,000 euros over 30 years will be about 240 euros more expensive per month.

The 12-month Euribor, the indicator most commonly used in Spain to calculate mortgage payments, fell for the first time in 20 months, ending August at 4.07%.

The monthly rate recorded in July was 4.149%, which is a decrease of 0.079%.

However, it remains high compared to August 2022, when the index was at 1.249%.

This means that someone who has a variable mortgage of 150,000 euros for 30 years and has to review his interest rate in August will register an increase in his mortgage costs of about 240 euros per month.
