A 10-year-old boy died in Sardinia on Thursday after his family’s camper exploded. The explosion on Bados beach – located between Olbia and Golfo Aranci in the northern part of the island – is believed to have been caused by a gas cylinder leak.
As a result of this incident, a fire started and spread. Many holidaymakers had to leave the beach because of the black smoke. Carabinieri and 118 emergency services were on the scene.
The child’s father suffered burns
The fatal victim was among a group of tourists from Italy and Romania who had recently arrived on the island. The child’s father suffered burns and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
