Prosecutor Julia Kalmar will not appeal in the proceedings against Florian Teichtmeister. The verdict in the first instance against the former castle actor for possessing and making images of the sexual abuse of minors is therefore final.
“We will not appeal,” authority spokeswoman Nina Bussek said on Wednesday afternoon when asked. Teichtmeister was sentenced on Tuesday afternoon by the Vienna Criminal Court to two years in prison and – also conditionally – to admission to a forensic therapy center. The 43-year-old remains free, albeit with numerous conditions.
Therapy and alcohol and drug prohibition
The court ordered the continuation of psychotherapy and intricate specialist psychiatric treatment, with the help of which Teichtmeister is to control his pedophilia and internet use. He has now been in treatment for two years.
In addition, every two months he must prove to the court that he does not continue to use alcohol or drugs. Probation was also ordered. With the instructions, the Senate followed the recommendations of psychiatric expert Peter Hofmann, who had spoken in favor of these measures.
76,000 files seized
From 2008 to 2021, Teichtmeister collected images of abused children and young people and modified a significant portion of the files – some 35,000 – by creating collages or slideshows or adding text annotations to the material. In total, about 76,000 files had been secured from the former television and stage star.
