A police officer in Longmont, Colorado, made a spectacular rescue this weekend. After an accident, a car had caught fire – with the help of other people, the officer was able to free the driver from the wreckage,
The incident happened on Saturday. Officer Justin Hill was called to a traffic accident. On site he discovered that high flames blazed from the engine compartment of a car.
The driver of the car was still inside and could not get out because the door would not open. After Hill unsuccessfully tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, the officer was eventually forced to remove the steering wheel from the wreckage first.
Alcohol was the cause of the accident
Together with passengers and a local resident, the driver’s door was eventually broken open. All three occupants of the car received medical attention. Police cited alcohol as the cause of the accident.
