Explosion in Rostov – Numerous drone strikes in Russia and Ukraine

There were again numerous drone strikes on Thursday evening – both on Russia and Ukraine. Images are circulating on the internet of an explosion in the middle of the Russian city of Rostov.

As the governor of the Russian city of Rostov, Vasily Golubev, reported via Telegram, one drone was shot down in the western part of the city of Rostov and a second in the middle of the city center. A fireball was seen briefly in the sky in the center of Rostov. One person was injured in the attack. In addition, some cars were damaged. The facade of three buildings was damaged and windows shattered.

Telegram channels published images showing the drone exploding. According to the information, this should have happened near the headquarters of the military staff south.

Drone intercepted near Moscow airport
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported another drone strike in Moscow Oblast. According to the Telegram channel Mash, the unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted near Zhukovsky International Airport. The blast wave caused by the blast broke windows in surrounding houses. The Russian aviation authority Rozawiazija subsequently announced that air traffic at Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky airports had been restricted.

Bryansk railway station damaged
Bryansk region governor Aleksandr Bogomas reported that three Ukrainian drones had been shot down that night. This caused damage to the station building and also affected the station square and some wagons.

33 drones over Ukraine
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 33 drones in one night, some in the Black Sea region of Odessa, others in the northern Ukrainian region of Sumy. 25 of the missiles were shot down.

The Odessa region has come under increasing Russian fire since the end of the agreement on the shipment of Ukrainian grain. Port facilities as well as farms and grain silos are usually targeted. In the most recently affected district of Izmail, there are a number of ports in the Danube Delta where Ukraine continues to ship grain despite the naval blockade.
