The late summer weather in Austria will continue until after the weekend. The experts from Geosphere Austria predict sunny, almost cloudless days with maximum temperatures around 30 degrees on Thursday. Temperatures will rise to 32 degrees on Monday and Tuesday.
Patches of fog will persist into the morning in some valleys and basins, especially in the south, on Friday. But otherwise it is cloudlessly sunny throughout the country. In addition, there is a weak, sometimes moderate wind from east to south in the Danube valley. Temperatures typically rise from nine to 16 degrees in the morning, to 25 to almost 30 degrees during the day.
The wind blows moderately
On Saturday, the sunny and also warm late summer weather will continue in the Eastern Alps. Usually the sun shines from a cloudless sky, only in some basins and valleys and near water bodies, morning mists can sometimes last a little longer. The wind is blowing moderately from the east, otherwise there is generally only little wind. Flat cumulus clouds appear above the mountains during the day only in the west. It is generally a bit windy. Morning temperatures reach 8 to 17 degrees, daily maximum temperatures 25 to 31 degrees.
Carefree start of the week
At the start of the new week, Monday will remain unproblematic under the influence of high pressure. Any fog spots in the valleys or near the water usually disappear in the morning. Furthermore, the weather is very sunny. Scattered cumulus clouds form above the mountains, but the chance of a shower remains very low for the time being. The wind blows weakly and sometimes blows moderately from east to southeast in the eastern region. The early temperatures are usually between nine and 18 degrees, the maximum daytime temperatures are between 26 and 32 degrees.
Thunderstorms possible Tuesday
On Tuesday there will be local early morning fog and some clouds in the west from the start. Otherwise, it will probably become mostly sunny again and the temperature level will remain close to midsummer. During the day, especially near the main Alpine ridge, more cumulus clouds may develop than recently, and isolated short showers or thunderstorms are also possible towards the evening. In the extreme west and northwest, the danger of large and sometimes powerful thunderstorms increases significantly from the evening. During the day it usually remains slightly windy. Early temperatures range from ten to 19 degrees, daily highs from 26 to 32 degrees.
