Because Deutsche Bahn would not pay an entrepreneur, he quickly canceled his work at Kiel Central Station. He had the previously installed doors removed.
The entrepreneur had installed new interior doors in the travel center – but he never saw money for this work, he complained to the “Kieler Nachrichten”. The railway apparently cannot understand this action: “We regret that doors in the interior of the new DB travel center at Kiel Central Station have been removed without permission,” said a spokesperson.
Entrepreneur: “Invested a lot of money and working time”
The director of the construction company has sent reminders several times for two invoices, but they have still not been paid as per contract. “We have invested a lot of money and working time,” he told the paper. He also contacted Deutsche Bahn, but they did not respond either.
Because the entrepreneur still had a travel center key that he had been given for working in the travel center, his employees could still access the doors and simply take them back. The director suspects that the case may end up in civil court.
The angry contractor had been hired as a subcontractor from another company to install the doors. “There are differences of opinion between the two companies about the quality of the work delivered,” said Deutsche Bahn. No further details about the contract have been disclosed.
