Science expert Christian Mähr from ‘Krone’ discusses why so many people find it difficult to be open about their school and academic performance. The reason for this was an interview in the magazine “Profil” with the widely respected Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler. The first question was: what half-time figure would you give the federal government?
Kogler’s answer: “One two.” Why not one? Werner Kogler replied that he had never been a nerd, that he had only accidentally graduated with honors and that had already been embarrassing for him. I don’t remember what else he said, just the usual things you would expect from a member of the government. The first statements stuck with me. Why? No one from my generation “accidentally graduated with honors”! With respect: that was not possible.
