Desolate scenes emerged on Friday evening after a minor accident near Weinzierl in Lower Austria. An 80-year-old motorist was attacked, beaten and injured by two motorcyclists.
The man is said to have hit one of the two oncoming vehicles with his side mirror in a bend, causing his car to stop. According to police, the two motorcyclists then attacked him.
Fell into the stream after being hit
The 80-year-old said he fell after being punched in the stomach and then kicked. As he left the scene, a motorcyclist allegedly ran over the man’s legs. After the first treatment, the Lower Austrian was flown to the Krems University Hospital with the Christophorus 2 medical emergency helicopter.
The police are asking for information
According to the police, the man could not provide precise information about the motorcyclists. Therefore, cameras of uninvolved road users who were in the region are currently being evaluated. The Weißenkirchen police station is also asking for information from the public on 059133-3452.
