Horrible accident in Innsbruck! Only now has it become known that on August 21, a four-year-old child was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street. The driver continued driving and the child was seriously injured. Police continue to search for the car and driver.
The incident, as has only now become known, took place a few weeks ago. The father (35) from Syria wanted to cross Amraser Strasse with his two children at that time. In his right and left hands he held a child. He stopped because of an approaching vehicle.
While one of the children also stopped, the second (4 years old) took another step forward. The car hit him on the left side and caused him to fall. “However, the driver involved in the accident did not stop immediately. Only shortly before the intersection with Doctor-Glatz-Strasse did he stop for about ten to fifteen seconds and then turn onto Doctor-Glatz-Strasse,” the police describe.
Child seriously injured, police are looking for witnesses
The child broke his tibia and fibula in the accident. All that is known so far is that the vehicle could possibly be a VW Caddy. Since the driver of the car has not yet been located, the Innsbruck traffic inspectorate is asking for useful information on 059133 75 91 100.
