Shortly before 8 p.m., a pan filled with grease caught fire on a stove that was on. The 40-year-old father became aware of the fire because of the dog’s unusual behavior. He took his two children and his wife (41) from the apartment.
He then tried to extinguish the fire with two blankets. “As a result of the fire, the extractor hood was completely damaged and the wooden paneling of the cabinets near the stove was partially damaged,” police said.
Parents in hospital, children unharmed
The parents were transferred to the clinic in Innsbruck for further clarification due to suspected smoke poisoning. Fortunately, the two children were unharmed.
