A mountain tour in the Zillertal Alps ended Monday for a German long-distance hiker in the Innsbruck clinic. The 59-year-old tripped and fell several meters over a ledge. His companions immediately raised the alarm and administered first aid.

The fatal accident finally happened around 10:30 am. The 59-year-old suddenly tripped near a ledge and fell about five meters before lying motionless in the area.
By helicopter to the clinic
His companions immediately started the rescue chain and provided first aid. The seriously injured man was then rescued by the emergency medical helicopter and flown to the clinic in Innsbruck.
