Spectacular accident in Vienna-Floridsdorf. After a collision with an emergency vehicle, a small truck ended up in a zebra crossing. Passers-by were very lucky.
Several guardian angels must have flown over Brünner Strasse and Hermann-Bahr-Strasse. A rescue vehicle from the Samaritan Association collided with a small truck at the busy intersection at around 1.30pm on Thursday.
The blue light vehicle was in use and probably entered the intersection at high speed at a signal. The impact caused the van to overturn on a zebra crossing. Fortunately, no one was at the crosswalk at the time.
According to the Vienna Professional Rescue Service, the occupants of the accident vehicles were also unharmed. The Vienna Fire Department arrived with a crane to save the truck. How the collision occurred and whether there was any wrongdoing is being investigated. “Details of how the accident happened are being checked internally,” the Samaritan Association said.
