A young couple with a dignified Viennese background hid 1,800 euros worth of designer clothes in the stroller of their ten-day-old baby. This did not go unnoticed by the store detective. The parents of three ended up in court.
“My client lives very comfortably with her fiancé with her in-laws. “You get everything, it’s like being in a golden cage,” lawyer Normann Hofstätter explains during the unusual trial in Landl, Vienna.
Partner stood for cabin grease
All the more surprising is the crime that brought the young couple before Judge Alexandra Skrdla. Together with their newborn baby, who was only ten days (!) old, the parents of three children went stealing from a well-known Viennese fashion store. The 21-year-old pretended to try on clothes in the cabin, but actually used a metal hook to remove the fuses from the expensive garment. Her partner was fake and pretended to give her fashion advice. The unlocked luxury clothes went into the stroller with the baby.
“Just adventurous”
“Great if you’re going to steal with a newborn baby! Abusing a small child to get Armani and Co. “You don’t have to understand that,” says Ms Rat, as she marvels at the action of people with previous convictions. “It’s just adventurous that you pulled these things out of the car after the department store detective caught you.”
The well-dressed suspects remained silent. “They didn’t want to sit on the father’s back anymore,” Hofstätter tries to find an explanation: four or six months conditional, not legally binding.
