On Friday at 2:23 p.m., the Bavarian police operations center in Kempten received an emergency call that a black BMW on the German A 96 had harassed an Austrian driver to such an extent that the driver had to give way and started to skid when changing lanes and braking.
Just a few minutes later the next emergency call! This time the same black BMW was involved in an accident. Both vehicles involved were at the rest area on the German-Austrian border near Hörbranz. The Bavarian police officers asked their colleagues from Vorarlberg for administrative help in recording the accident.
22-year-old as perpetrator
What happened? A driver from the Vorarlberg town of Bludenz had entered the A 96 in Lindau and wanted to overtake a slow-moving car. When the black BMW in question approached the overtaking lane very quickly from behind, the Austrian driver stopped overtaking and drove back to the right lane. At that moment, the 22-year-old BMW driver also drove into the right lane and then drove to the merge lane, where the two vehicles then came into contact with each other.
Complaint of coercion
Fortunately, neither of the two occupants was injured. However, a report was filed against the BMW driver for coercion in traffic.
