Stalemate in the negotiations on the double budget of the city of Vienna: the Neos are against the ORF state levy, the SPÖ is in favor. But the SPÖ is six times bigger than the Neos. But the little brother is complaining now.
The ORF state tax – on this topic there is a broadcast break between the coalition partners SPÖ and Neos. What is it about? With the GIS or, from January, with the household tax, Viennese not only pay for the ORF, but also involuntarily subsidize the city of Vienna. This is done through the state tax, which currently amounts to 5.80 euros per month or almost 70 euros per year. Not all states do this: Vorarlberg, Upper Austria and Lower Austria now do without it completely. So far, this has given the city of Vienna a nice bonus of 36 million euros per year.
