In the municipality of Blons in Vorarlberg, a serious accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon with a special agricultural vehicle. The vehicle, which was carrying two men, fell 150 meters into steep terrain. The two occupants had to be rescued by a large number of rescuers and flown to the state hospital in Feldkirch with serious injuries.
On Wednesday around 2:55 pm, a 32-year-old and his 41-year-old passenger were engaged in agricultural work in a special vehicle to which a fertilizer tank was attached in the municipality of Blons Großwalsertal. When driving uphill on steep terrain, the left front wheel lost traction, causing the “Unitrac” to skid and fall 150 meters.
The special vehicle overturned several times before finally being stopped by a group of trees. The two men were able to free themselves from the vehicle, but suffered serious leg and head injuries in the accident.
After the first emergency medical treatment and the securing of the vehicle by the fire brigade, the two victims of the accident were flown to the state hospital in Feldkirch with the helicopters of the emergency doctor “Gallus 1” and “Christophorus 8” for further treatment.
