Once again an alcoholic driver has extinguished the life of an innocent person in Styria: a drunken 23-year-old crashed into an oncoming car in Hohentauern and the 61-year-old driver died at the scene of the accident.
The 23-year-old from Upper Styria was driving from Hohentauern towards Oberzeiring on Saturday around 10:45 p.m. when he collided with an oncoming car at the entrance to the town. The 61-year-old driver was so seriously injured in the accident that he died on the spot; Resuscitation attempts by the rescuers were unfortunately unsuccessful.
Alcohol driver slightly injured
The alcohol driver himself suffered only minor injuries; According to the police, the alcohol test showed that he was very drunk. The Leoben Public Prosecution Service is now investigating negligent homicide, and the loss of his driver’s license is the smallest problem in Styria.
