In broad daylight and although the homeowner (85) and her caregiver were at home, a previously unknown man entered an unlocked family home in Wolfsberg on Tuesday morning. The nurse caught the thief, who managed to escape with money.
The 85-year-old woman was talking to a neighbor in the yard around 11 a.m. when the 30-year-old man simply entered the unlocked single-family home and immediately began searching the rooms. The permanent 24-hour caretaker (50) was sitting on the terrace at the time and suddenly heard noises in the living room.
Facing the unknown
She checked and suddenly found herself face to face with the burglar who was about to search the living room cupboards. The 50-year-old spoke to the man and even held his arm. “She bravely tried to prevent her client from being robbed,” said a police officer. The athletic thief struck the nurse in the body and then fled in an unknown direction. “Unfortunately, he managed to steal several hundred euros in cash.”
Searching so far without success
The search that was immediately started by several police patrols from the Wolfsberg District Police Command, the police helicopter “Libelle”, assistance dog handlers and the rapid intervention forces was negative. Fortunately, the nurse was not injured and was able to give a good description of the perpetrator.
