A 17-year-old drove a car onto the sidewalk on Viktor-Kaplan-Straße in Kapfenberg on Tuesday afternoon. She seriously injured a 15-year-old pedestrian in the leg.
Around 2 p.m., the 17-year-old drove with her girlfriend (in the passenger seat) and her boyfriend (in the back seat) from Viktor-Kaplan-Straße towards HTL Kapfenberg. At the same time, the pedestrian was on the sidewalk in the direction of the Kapfenberg stadium. The collision left the teenager from the Leoben district seriously injured in his right leg. The rescue helicopter C17 transported the injured person to the LKH-Graz.
Without a driver’s license and drunk
The 17-year-old from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district does not have a valid driver’s license. An alcohol test was positive. The car is also registered in the name of the mother of the 17-year-old passenger. The Kapfenberg police station is now conducting further investigations.
