Miraculous rescue in Moroccan earthquake zone: Welsh rescuers rescued a donkey alive from the rubble. The animal was trapped under a collapsed house for six days.
In a video published days later – on Wednesday – (see above) you can see helpers freeing the donkey trapped under a collapsed house in Imi n’Isli, south of Casablanca. The animal is believed to have survived the earthquake virtually unscathed.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed and more than 5,600 others injured in the magnitude 6.8 earthquake, according to a preliminary estimate published a week ago.
An even greater number of casualties were feared
However, experts fear that many more victims will be found as helpers advance to remote mountain villages.
