The trade unions ELA, LSB-USO, LAB, UGT, CC.OO. and ESK called mobilizations and three days of strike —October 9, 10 and 11—in the ambulances of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) by the “block” in negotiations with employers.

Specifically, they will hold meetings on September 29 and October 5, in front of the Labor Relations Center in Bilbao and in front of the Basque Parliament respectively. In addition, they call for three days of strikes on October 9, 10 and 11.

In a joint note, the trade union centers denounced that “25 negotiating table meetings and more than one and a half years have passed before the signing of the new autonomous agreement.” All this time, the ambulance employers have maintained a ‘permanent blockade’ without responding to their demands and ‘benefiting from acts of sabotage that have nothing to do with the negotiations on the agreement to block it’. They demand, among other things, equalization of the conditions of the medical transport staff with the conditions of the Osakidetza staff, the maintenance of purchasing power of the templates and the guarantee of compliance with the agreement.

‘We are aware that the company They increased funding by 30% In this new competition, and as workers are forced to work increasingly poorly paid jobs to make ends meet, the wage situation for workers has continued to deteriorate as the wide variation in the CPI accumulates around the 10-year mark. 12% purchase loss in just two years,” they said.

Furthermore, they criticize that companies “receive funding not only from public competitions, but also from private competitions (football matches, folk festivals, concerts, etc.) using the staff assigned to the specifications to provide services”, something they claim . is ‘an illegal practice’.
