A tragic swimming accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Obertrumer See in the Salzburg Flachgau: an elderly man drowned. The emergency services did everything they could to save his life.
The woman raised the alarm around 3 p.m. Seeham water rescue service divers quickly removed the unconscious man from the bottom of Lake Obertrum and lifted him into a rescue boat. Resuscitation began in the lifeboat and the emergency physician later took over on the lake shore.
Despite all efforts, the man died on the spot, according to the water rescue team. The teams from the Seeham and Mattsee water rescue bases, the Mattsee fire brigade and the Red Cross, emergency medical helicopters and the police were present.
