A 44-year-old was seriously injured at a construction site in the Mühlviertel. He suddenly fell from a scaffolding and fell on iron. How the tragic accident could have happened is still the subject of a police investigation.
The 44-year-old from Unterweißenbach supported his brother during the construction work on a new warehouse on Thursday around 3:45 p.m. The man climbed onto a hanging scaffold that was mounted on the outside of the formwork at a height of approximately eight feet.
Witness administered first aid
However, for unknown reasons, the 44-year-old suddenly fell from the scaffolding and fell onto the iron bars or strip foundation. Another rescuer immediately provided first aid and started the rescue chain.
After initial treatment, the seriously injured man was flown to the Linz accident hospital with the rescue helicopter “Christophorus 10”. He suffered injuries to his head and back.
