Date:

The Tyrolean State Police has carried out a major attack on several dealers in the Innsbruck area! Cocaine worth 450,000 euros was seized in seven arrests. Several suspects are in custody. Further investigations are underway.

Intensive investigation by the state criminal investigation lasted several months. Their target: a cocaine gang in the Innsbruck area. After searches in recent days, the handcuffs clicked. A total of seven people were arrested.

The officers had recently received several indications of drug trafficking in the Innsbruck area. An investigation began in the spring of 2023 and on September 13 the trail finally led to two men and two women between the ages of 40 and 55 in Innsbruck. Three other suspects (aged between 41 and 54) would go online shortly afterwards.

Major discovery during house searches
During eleven house searches, investigators found a total of 4.5 kilos of cocaine with a street value of no less than 450,000 euros. A small amount of cannabis herb, various packaging materials and a money counting machine were also found, as well as a blank pistol and small caliber ammunition.

Suspects in custody
“After interviews, five of those arrested were released,” police said. The two main suspects, a 48-year-old and a 55-year-old local resident, did not confess during the interrogation. They were taken to jail and are now in custody.

“There is a suspicion that the 48-year-old main suspect organized the drug and then passed it on for profit to a currently unknown number of intermediaries in the Innsbruck region,” investigators continued. Further investigations, particularly into the middle sellers and other buyers, are ongoing.
