Trial in Feldkirch – Syrian in court for attempted rape

Date:

The man allegedly locked the 14-year-old daughter of a family friend in the car. An acquittal followed.

Serious accusations by the minors against the previously innocent Syrian. The 22-year-old father of the family, together with the alleged victim, allegedly drove the girl’s sick mother to the hospital in August last year. He and the 14-year-old allegedly waited in the car during the investigation. For alleged security reasons, the suspect eventually locked the doors and initially made lewd comments. Then he says: “According to Austrian law, you are no longer allowed to be a virgin. I will help you so that you are no longer one.”

Threatening messages?
According to the complaint, the Syrian then drove with the minor compatriot to Bürs, where he allegedly committed assault. When the girl refused, he allegedly forced her not to tell her parents, otherwise he would accuse the 14-year-old’s father of abusing his wife. When the girl reported the crime three months later, he allegedly sent her threatening messages.

During the hearing, the suspect denied the accusations. German lawyer Bertsch speaks of numerous contradictions with the alleged victim. After a nine-hour trial, the jury returned a verdict of acquittal when in doubt. It was statement against statement.
