No mobile network -multi -day ski adventure ended with a fatal fall

Date:

During a multi-day ski and freerid tour with a mountain guide in Tyrol, a German (64) rode a stone and fell. The winter athlete destroyed several times and suffered considerable injuries. Because there was no mobile phone network on the spot, the rescue was only delayed.

With a four-member German group, the local mountain guide (32) undertook a five-day ski or freerid tour with a start in the Stubai Valley and destination Pettneu am Arlberg. The starting signal had already taken place on Tuesday.

On the last day there was a fatal accident
Samnaun’s pounds started on Saturday – it continued to the Heidelberg Hütte and Ischgl. From there the group drove to Kappl because she wanted to drive across the Lattejoch to the Malfontal with the ultimate goal of Pettneu on the Arlberg.

Group member was unlucky and fell
It happened shortly before 3.30 pm! A 64-year-old German member of the group drove a stone on the Lattejockefritung. This caused the man to fall – he destroyed several times and was considerably injured.

By helicopter to the hospital
“Because the Mountain Guide did not have a reception of mobile phones in this area and therefore could not have an emergency call, he went according to Pettneu,” said the police. The rescue chain was started from there. The wounded was eventually flown to the Zams hospital with the medical helicopter “Robin 3”.

The other members of the group were found by the crew of the police helicopter and brought to St. Anton.
