New attack by smugglers in Linz: baby and 26 refugees in the back. This time the stop went without complaints, but the head of the criminal investigation department knows the crazy order given to the drivers: “Get through, no respect for human life.”
Fortunately, the 32-year-old Swede behind the wheel of the Mercedes Sprinter with Slovenian license plate did not obey the ‘breakthrough’ order of those behind him. He was stopping at the bus stop near the Ars Electronic Center when police officers stopped him. On the cargo space: 27 Turks, including four small children and a baby!
Multiple escape attempts
Two days earlier, a stop had escalated: in Reichersberg, a Syrian (25) rammed the civilian patrol with his box truck when the police tried to stop him. Fortunately, the Iveco van full of 18 people did not roll over and shots were fired. Tugboats also accelerated in Puchenau and Rottenegg, once with 19 people and once with 38 people on board. “The smugglers have orders to break through at all costs and not to stop. “That is why we instruct the officers not to stand in front of the smugglers’ vehicles if they are stopped,” Brigadier General Gerald Tatzgern, top smuggler hunter in Austria, told the “Krone”. Translated: The traffickers must take down the officials!
The destination of the passenger carriers is always Germany; surcharges apply for guaranteed smuggling. According to Tatzgern, in Serbia it is mainly Turks who have lost everything due to the earthquake and want to get to Europe before winter, who are queuing for smugglers’ tickets that can cost up to €4,000.

Human lives are worthless
What would have happened if the Reichersberg smuggler’s bus had had an accident while trying to break through, and those being towed and perhaps the smuggler had died? Except for a moment of shock for us – nothing!
The driver can be replaced – more than 400 smugglers have already been arrested in Austria this year – and the people in the loading area are currently “bulk goods” and have already paid. Police officers who stand in the way of smugglers risk more than they think. These human lives are worth nothing in the mafia system. This may sound cynical, but it is reality.
