Headquarters destroyed – Ukraine apparently killed Russian commander

Date:

Ukrainian forces claim they have killed the commander of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Viktor Sokolov is said to have been killed in a rocket attack on the headquarters in Sevastopol – along with 34 Russian officers.

Ukraine has recently stepped up its attacks on the Crimean Peninsula, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014. On Friday, she managed to hit the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in the city of Sevastopol, videos on social media showed.

A video shows the moment of a rocket impact:

From there, the Russian occupation forces in southern Ukraine are supplied and the rocket attacks are controlled. The shelling took place during a meeting of the Russian naval leadership. Dozens of “occupiers” had been killed and injured, Kiev said last Saturday.

105 injured after rocket attack
According to the information, another 105 people were injured in the attack. The headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet is ‘irreparable’. This was “hit by an enemy missile attack” on Friday, as authorities on the Russian-annexed peninsula had announced. As a rule, Moscow does not provide information about its own losses. The Ukrainian army claimed responsibility for the airstrike.

Russia has been waging a war of aggression against neighboring Ukraine for 19 months. Ships from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet regularly fire missiles at Ukrainian cities. In recent weeks, the Ukrainian army has repeatedly managed to damage Russian military objects – including in Crimea, which has been annexed by Moscow since 2014.
