The case of the Braunauer who brazenly showed off his Nazi tattoos in the outdoor swimming pool caused a stir across Austria, not least because the Braunau police arrived but did not intervene. On Tuesday, the 32-year-old, who has several previous convictions to his name, will have to appear before the jury of the Rieder regional court.
A swimmer, himself a police officer from neighboring Bavaria, alerted the police because a 32-year-old swimmer with clear Nazi tattoos was splashing around in the outdoor pool. The Braunau colleagues came but did not enter the bathroom and ultimately left without having accomplished anything without even seeing the tattooed person.
Showed Nazi symbols on social media
It was not his first time: according to the complaint, the Innviertel resident allegedly entered the bathroom at least twice without covering his tattoos. He also presented the Nazi symbols on social media. The inveterate man had his first relevant criminal record when he was just 16 years old, and since then he has racked up nine more previous convictions and twelve criminal records.
Because of this criminal past, the neo-Nazi will likely receive a severe sentence if convicted. A verdict is expected at 6 p.m., the “Krone” will report on this.
