A farmer wanted to drive cows and bulls from one pasture to another, but a bull grabbed the 69-year-old by the horns. Then the rescue helicopter team had to arrive.
On Tuesday around 4:15 p.m., the farmer in the Völkermarkt district drove the herd from a pasture across a municipal road to another pasture. With a stick he helped a three-year-old bull weighing about 900 kilograms.
Suddenly, the animal turned around, grabbed the 69-year-old on its horns and threw him into the air several times. A passing veterinarian saw the incident, drove the bull behind a fence and raised the alarm.
The seriously injured man was flown to the Klagenfurt clinic by the C11 rescue helicopter team, according to Eberndorf police.
